Founded in 2017, KUNSTSALON establishes a dynamic context for contemporary art and culture, shaped by the curatorial practice of Marie Ruprecht and Antonia Riederer. Through a flexible exhibition concept that combines their own and curated positions, the association provides a platform for female artists, theorists, and art experts. As an independent art association, KUNSTSALON promotes a transdisciplinary discourse that critically engages with current social, political, and economic issues, while fostering national and international collaborations.

KUNSTSALON deconstructs the concept of the 'white cube' through the deliberate use of diverse spatial contexts, and fosters a dialogue between artwork and site through the flexible utilization of varied spaces, thereby lending exhibitions a specific connotation.

"Through the initiative and steadfast commitment of its two founders, KUNSTSALON has established itself as an exciting format within the contemporary art scene of Upper Austria. Central to its mission is the empowerment and visibility of female artists, and the cultivation of artistic networks, achieved by inviting a guest female artist to each of their exhibitions."

MAG. MARGOT NAZZAL - HEAD OF CULTURE AND SOCIETY, UPPER AUSTRIA

"In their curatorial collaboration, Riederer and Ruprecht realize exhibitions in unused spaces, transforming their surfaces into new spaces of possibility. Characteristic is the artistic engagement with complex themes and their in-depth exploration over an extended period."

MAG. BRIGITTE HÜTTER - RECTOR, LINZ ART UNIVERSITY
